Operating in the organizational home of Community Health Works since 2004, The Central Georgia Cancer Coalition (CGCC) is a focused CHW initiative that connects cancer patients, cancer survivors and cancer care providers to available resources enhancing the continuum of care and reducing health disparities associated with geography, race or uninsured status. The CGCC is dedicated to fulfilling the Georgia Cancer Coalition’s goals while maximizing and leveraging public and private investments in a unique model across the entire state of Georgia.
In keeping with CHW’s efforts to support regional partnerships and cooperation to improve health and health care delivery, CGCC partners with numerous hospital systems and cancer centers in the region, and represents over 650,000 people in 25 central Georgia counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dodge, Dooly, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Laurens, Macon, Monroe, Montgomery, Peach, Pike, Pulaski, Putnam, Telfair, Treutlen, Twiggs, Upson, Wheeler, Wilcox, and Wilkinson counties.
