Our Role:

Community Health Works (CHW) is proud to partner with GA-HITREC and the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine to serve as a Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (HITREC) Resource. We are your nonprofit, nonbiased, vendor neutral community resource for assistance in achieving Meaningful Use.   Through this federal grant program, we are charged with providing Outreach and Education and Technical Assistance to Priority Primary Care Providers to help them understand and achieve Meaningful Use.

What We Do:

Ø  Provide free Technical Assistance to Priority Primary Care Providers to assist them in reaching Meaningful Use and receiving their EHR incentive payment.

Ø  Offer free assistance to primary care providers regardless of where they are in the process of implementing EHR.

Ø  Work with practices that are “paper based” as well as with practices that have used EHR extensively.

Ø  Provide free assistance in modifying and refining workflow processes to assist practices in achieving Meaningful Use of an EHR System.  This may range from minor tweaks to major, step by step overhauls depending on the practice’s need.

Ø   Regardless of a practice’s starting point, CHW can help provide scalable assistance to achieve Meaningful Use.

A Non-Profit’s Mission:

CHW is a nonprofit “Regional Center for Health Innovation” set upon improving health and healthcare throughout Georgia. We carry out this mission through diverse programs ranging from cancer screening and prevention programs, health education, access to care initiatives, prescription assistance programs, and Health IT (HIT).   Through our Health IT Initiatives, CHW is able to be your community resource for nonbiased, vendor neutral assistance in all things related to Health IT including EHR Systems and Meaningful Use.  CHW does not promote any particular products or EHR systems.  We believe that effectively implemented, interconnected, and utilized Health IT will improve health outcomes in our community. Rest assured that we do not receive any commissions or kickbacks from the choices that a practice makes in selecting EHR software, hardware, or support.  We perform this work only to further our mission in improving health and healthcare throughout Georgia.
