HealthTeacher: Good Health is Contagious.

 
Community Health Works has partnered with HealthTeacher, a leading provider of online health, wellness and prevention education resources for kindergarten through 12th grade, to provide web-based health education curriculum to the public school districts within the seven counties that comprise our core service area (Bibb and the six contiguous counties).
 
Designed for K-12 teachers and students, the curriculum covers 10 key topic areas that are aligned with the National Health Education Standards that require instruction in five key areas: health, nutrition, mental health, injury prevention, and tobacco, alcohol and drug use. This unique web-based curriculum can be utilized in any classroom setting regardless of the subject matter being taught.
 
Currently, CHW sponsors HealthTeacher for all seven counties in our core service area- Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs Counties. Below are some snapshots of four out of our seven counties school districts for the amount of hits on the web-based curriculum from September 2009 to the present:

Please Note: HT curriculum has only recently been sponsored for Crawford, Peach, Twiggs County Schools, and therefore generated little data to report during the last reporting period (March 1-31, 2011). New usage reports will be forthcoming. Please check back for updates.
